Island firefighters were called to a cell fire at HMP Isle of Wight yesterday (Tuesday). Crews were called at 10:10 following reports of a fire in what Island Echo believes to be the remand wing. Once on scene, firefighters were quickly able to extinguish the blaze. The stop message came at 11:06, with crews returning to station thereafter.

as prisoners aren’t supposed to be in possession of anything that can create a fire, then whoever it was should have been left in the cell and told, —well if you hadn’t started it, you wouldn’t be in there suffering would you.
Couldn’t possibly be an electrical fire or arson by someone else then, no? And would you be that person to watch someone burn because you didn’t think to question? Just asking.
