A single car collision has occurred on Beapers Shute this afternoon (Saturday), where it appears the car left the carriageway and drove into a bush.
Police responded to the incident on the busy main road at around 14:15, where they found a silver Dacia Sandero that had collided with a bush along the grassy verge.
Despite the lack of emergency service responders, the collision carried enough force that the driver’s side airbag could be seen to have been deployed.
In a statement, a spokesperson from Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary said:
“We were called at 14:15 today to a report that a car had left the road and collided with a bush on Beapers Shute near Brading.”
It has also been confirmed that no injuries have been reported as a result of the incident. In fact, on scene, it appeared that the driver got out of the vehicle and hitched a ride with a member of the public who had stopped at the roadside.
