A woman seen to run out of her house with ‘smoking hands’ is being treated by air ambulance medics in Sandown this morning (Saturday).
It was shortly before 09:15 that emergency services responded to the scene of the emergency at Chichester Close, off Perowne Way.
Witnesses say that a fire alarm was sounding for around 20 minutes before a woman was seen running out of a residential property, described as being completely naked and on fire.
The Isle of Wight Ambulance Service immediately responded, with the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance also scrambled from its base in Southampton .
Flying medics are providing specialist pre-hospital treatment to the injured woman on the doorstep of the property at the centre of this morning’s bizarre incident.
Police are also in attendance.
