A collection of Isle of Wight homes and commercial properties has gone under the hammer, with more than £1million changing hands across Ryde, Cowes, Newport, Ventnor and East Cowes.
The lots in the latest Clive Emson auction ranged from tenanted homes and commercial premises to a fire-damaged house requiring repair and improvement.
Among the residential sales was Mulberry Cottage on St Boniface Road, Ventnor, which fetched £250,000. The freehold cottage has 3 bedrooms and overlooks Ventnor Tennis Club to the front, with St Boniface Down rising beyond.
In Cowes, a 2-bedroom mid-terrace house at 6 Stanley Road sold for £146,000. The property, currently let at £10,740 per annum, attracted 29 bids and eventually sold for £26,000 above its guide price.
A 3-bedroom terraced cottage at 15 Castle Street, Ryde, fetched £125,000. The freehold property is currently let at £10,200 per annum.
Meanwhile, a 3-bedroom end-terrace house at 20 Terrace Road, Newport, sold for £124,000.
Another Ryde property, a 3-bedroom mid-terrace house at 76 Park Road, fetched £110,000. It is currently let at £9,600 per annum.
A fire-damaged house at 78 Osborne Road, East Cowes, sold for £100,000. The 2-bedroom, 2-reception semi-detached freehold property was offered for ‘repair and improvement’.

The former free school and community centre at Vectis Hall, Melville Street, sold for £30,150 from a nil reserve. Dance scenes from the 1973 British film That’ll Be the Day were filmed at the building.
The long leasehold Commodore Cinema and Bingo Hall at 2 Star Street sold for £97,000 – £2,000 above its guide price. The property is currently let at £35,521.26 per annum, with the cinema and bingo hall both on leases and unaffected by the sale.
A ground-floor commercial unit and lower-floor workshop at 13A Cross Street, Ryde, fetched £60,000. The lower floor had previously been used as a residential flat. The commercial unit is held on a 950-year lease dating from March 1854, with the residential flat at 13 Cross Street under the same lease length.
The properties were among 228 lots listed across southern England in the latest online auction held by Clive Emson Auctioneers.
