TEMPORARY TRAFFIC ORDERS

Date effective: Friday 17th May 2019

Notice is hereby given that the Isle of Wight Council in not less than seven days from the appearance of this Notice, under Section 14 (1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, proposes to make the following Orders: –

• The Isle of Wight Council (St Johns Road, Newport, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2019

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that for two days between approx. 0900 and 1600 hours from Tuesday 28 May 2019 until Thursday 30 May 2019, or when the works have been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle, to proceed along St Johns Road, between its junctions with Cyprus Road and Medina Avenue. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The closure is required for safety during works to a retaining wall.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Baring Road, Cowes, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2019

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that for one day between approx. 0900 and 1600 hours from Wednesday 29 May 2019 until Friday 31 May 2019, or when the works have been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle, to proceed along Baring Road, between its junctions with Ward Avenue and Castle Road. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The closure is required for safety during carriageway repairs.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Shorwell Shute, Shorwell, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2019

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that for one day between approx. 0900 and 1600 hours from Tuesday 28 May 2019 until Wednesday 29 May 2019, or when the works have been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle, to proceed along Shorwell Shute, between its junctions with Carisbrooke High Street and New Barn Lane. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The closure is required for safety during tree cutting works.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Great Preston Road, Ryde, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2019

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that for one day between approx. 0930 and 1530 hours from Wednesday 29 May 2019 until Friday 31 May 2019, or when the works have been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle, to proceed along Great Preston Road, between its junctions with Marlborough Road and Smallbrook Lane. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The closure is required for safety during carriageway repairs.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Macketts Lane, Arreton, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2019

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that for one day between approx. 0900 and 1600 hours from Wednesday 29 May 2019 until Friday 31 May 2019, or when the works have been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle, to proceed along Macketts Lane, between its junctions with Bathingbourne Lane and the end of the highway. There is no alternative route. The closure is required for safety during ditching works.

• The Isle of Wight Council (School Lane, Newport, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2019

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that for one day between approx. 0900 and 1600 hours from Wednesday 29 May 2019 until Friday 31 May 2019, or when the works have been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle, to proceed along School Lane, between its junctions with Highfield Road and Barton Road. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The closure is required for safety during carriageway repairs.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Castle Road, Wroxall, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2019

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that for one day between approx. 0900 and 1600 hours from Tuesday 28 May 2019 until Thursday 30 May 2019, or when the works have been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle, to proceed along Castle Road, between its junctions with Berry Mead and the end of the highway. There is no alternative route. The closure is required for safety during carriageway repairs.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Steephill Path, Ventnor, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Pedestrians) Order No 1 2019

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from approx. 0900 hours on Tuesday 28 May 2019 until 1600 hours on Friday 31 May 2019, or when the works have been completed, no person shall cause any pedestrian, to proceed along Steephill Path, between its junctions with Love Lane and the beach. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The closure is required for safety during hand rail repairs.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Godshill Byway 48, Godshill, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Pedestrians, Cyclists, Equestrians and Vehicles) Order No 1 2019

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that for one day between approx. 0900 and 1600 hours from Tuesday 28 May 2019 until Thursday 30 May 2019, or when the works have been completed, no person shall cause any pedestrian, Cyclist, Equestrian or vehicle, to proceed along Godshill Byway 48, Godshill, between its junctions with Rew Lane and the end of the highway. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The closure is required for safety during carriageway repairs.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Gunville West, Carisbrooke, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 2 2019

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from approx. 0800 on Tuesday 28 May 2019 until 1800 hours on Tuesday 4 June 2019, or when the works have been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle, to proceed along Gunville West, between its junctions with Gunville Road to the end of the highway. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The closure is required for safety during utility installation works.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Various Streets, Shanklin, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order 1 2019

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 1800 hours on Friday 24th May 2019 until 1800 hours on Friday 28th June 2019, or when the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along 1) Arthurs Hill, from between its junctions with Hope Road and Wilton Park Road; 2) St Boniface Cliff Road, from between its junctions with Arthurs Hill and 50mtrs east thereof; 3) Avenue Road, from between its junctions with Arthurs Hill and 20mtrs west thereof. The alternative route for 1) Wilton Park Road and Atherley Road; 2) St Martins and North Cliff Gardens; 3) Atherley Road and Wilton Park Road. The restriction is required for Southern Water to excavate and divert existing apparatus and installation of new sewer.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Various Streets, Shanklin, Isle of Wight) (Temporary No Waiting at Any Time Restriction) Order No 1 2019

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that for periods between 1800 on the Friday 24th May 2019 until 1800 hours on Friday 28th June 2019 or when the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner, the Isle of Wight Council will introduce a no waiting at any time parking restriction on the following lengths of road; St Martins Avenue on the north side from its junction with Arthurs Hill to its junction with Northcliff Gardens; St Boniface Cliff Road on the south side from its junction with Arthurs Hill to its junction with Northcliff Gardens and on the northside from property number 12 to outside property number 2; Sandown Road on the west side for a distance of 15mtrs in a northerly direction to a point 15mtrs in a southerly direction from junction with Winchester House Car Park entrance; Wilton Park Road, on the south side, between its junctions with Arthurs Hill and Wilton Road. The order is required for safety during Southern Water improvement works.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Beatrice Avenue, East Cowes, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2019

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from approx. 0900 on Tuesday 28 May 2019 until 1800 hours on Thursday 30 May 2019, or when the works have been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle, to proceed along Beatrice Avenue, between its junctions with Whippingham Road and Saunders Way. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The closure is required for safety during utility installation works.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Hill Place Lane, Yarmouth, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2019

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from approx. 0800 on Monday 27 May 2019 until 1800 hours on Friday 5 July 2019, or when the works have been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle, to proceed along Hill Place Lane, between its junctions with Thorley Street and Bouldnor Road. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The closure is required for safety during bridge deck replacement works.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Public Footpath N122, Newport, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Pedestrians and Cyclists) Order No 2 2019

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from approx. 0800 on Tuesday 28 May 2019 until 1800 hours on Friday 7 June 2019, or when the works have been completed, no person shall cause any pedestrian or cyclist, to proceed along Public Footpath N122, between its junctions with Folly Lane and Mill Lane. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The closure is required for safety during bridge deck replacement works.

Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that between 0630 hours and 1800 hours on approximately 5 to 10 days, or when the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner; that no vehicle or person may use, or cause any animal to use the following roads; and that no vehicle is permitted to wait on the following roads or within 50 metres on any adjoining side road where indicated by traffic signs.

The closures are for carriageway and footway repairs, resurfacing, drainage works, verge maintenance and kerbing works between Friday 24 May 2019 and Friday 5 July 2019. It may be necessary to close this section of road on more than one occasion within this timeframe.  The exact dates of the works will be confirmed on the Island Roads website at www.islandroads.com or ring on 01983 822440:

• The Isle of Wight Council (Pitts Lane, Binstead, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure and Parking Restrictions) Order No 3 2019 – Pitts Lane will be closed between Binstead Road and Church Road. The alternative route will be signposted locally.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Hawthorne Close, Binstead, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure and Parking Restrictions) Order No 1 2019 – Hawthorne Close will be closed between Arnold Road and the end of the highway. The alternative route will be signposted locally.

Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that between 1830 hours and 0600 hours on approximately 5 to 10 nights, or when the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner; that no vehicle or person may use, or cause any animal to use the following roads; and that no vehicle is permitted to wait on the following roads or within 50 metres on any adjoining side road where indicated by traffic signs.

The closures are for carriageway and footway repairs, resurfacing, drainage works, verge maintenance and kerbing works between Friday 24 May 2019 and Friday 5 July 2019. • The Isle of Wight Council (St James Street, Newport, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure and Parking Restrictions) Order No 2 2019 – St James Street will be closed between its junctions with South Street and St Johns Place. The alternative route will be signposted locally.

Notice is hereby given that the Isle of Wight Council in not less than seven days from the appearance of this Notice, under Section 21 of the Town Police Clause Act 1847, proposes to make the following Orders: –

• The Isle of Wight Council (Various Streets, Bembridge, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closures and Parking Restrictions) Order No 1 2019

Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that between 0900 and 1700 hours on Monday 27 May 2019, or when the event has finished, whichever is the sooner, no person shall cause any non-event related vehicle to proceed along High Street between its junctions with Grange Road and Church Road. A No Waiting At Any Time parking restriction will be introduced along Church Road, on both sides, between the High Street and the Church entrance and Steyne Road, on both sides, between Foreland Road and Hillway Road.  The exact extents will be depicted by ‘No Waiting Cones’. The closure and restrictions are required for safety during the Bembridge Festival. The diversion will be signposted locally.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Esplanade, East Cowes, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2019

Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that between 0800 and 2200 hours on Sunday 26 May 2019, or when the event has finished, whichever is the sooner, no person shall cause any non-event related vehicle to proceed along Esplanade between its junctions with Cambridge Road and the end of the highway. The closure is required for safety during the East Cowes Bicentennial Event 2019. The diversion will be signposted locally.

The alternative route will be signposted locally. The closure is required for safety during utility installation works.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Queens Road, Shanklin, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2019

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from approx. 0700 hours on Monday 20 May 2019 until 1700 hours on Tuesday 21 May 2019, or when the works have been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle, to proceed along Queens Road, between its junctions with Osborne Road and Chine Avenue. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The closure is required for safety during utility installation works.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Cross Street, Cowes, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 2 2019

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that for two days between approx. 0900 and 1600 hours from Wednesday 22 May 2019 until Friday 24 May 2019, or when the works have been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle, to proceed along Cross Street, between its junctions with Denmark Road to the end of the highway. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The closure is required for safety during carriageway repairs.

• The Isle of Wight Council (High Street, Godshill, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2019

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that for one night between approx. 1930 and 2300 hours from Monday 20 May 2019 until Tuesday 21 May 2019, or when the works have been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle, to proceed along High Street, between its junctions with Hollow Lane and Moor Farm access road. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The closure is required for safety during carriageway repairs.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Silcombe Lane, Freshwater, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2019

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that for one day between approx. 0900 and 1600 hours from Monday 20 May 2019 until Wednesday 22 May 2019, or when the works have been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle, to proceed along Silcombe Lane, between its junctions with High Street and Princes Road. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The closure is required for safety during carriageway repairs.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Mill Lane, Yafford, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 2 2019

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that for one day between approx. 0900 and 1600 hours from Wednesday 22 May 2019 until Friday 24 May 2019, or when the works have been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle, to proceed along Mill Lane, between its junctions with Muggleton Lane and Wolverton Lane. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The closure is required for safety during carriageway repairs.

 The Isle of Wight Council (Hillis Gate Road, Northwood, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2019

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that for one day between approx. 0900 and 1600 hours from Monday 20 May 2019 until Wednesday 22 May 2019, or when the works have been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle, to proceed along Hillis Gate Road, between its junctions with Rolls Hill and Marks Corner. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The closure is required for safety during carriageway repairs.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Medina Way, Newport, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 2 2019

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from approx. 1930 and 0100 hours, each night, between Tuesday 21 May 2019 until Thursday 23 May 2019, or when the works have been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle along Medina Way in both directions, between its junctions with St Marys roundabout and the slip roads on both sides.  These are phased works, only one direction will be closed at any time, on street signage will depict whether it is the southbound or northbound being closed at that time and the exact location of each closure. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The restriction is required for safety during carriageway improvement and repair works.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Avenue Road, Sandown, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 2 2019

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from approx. 2000 on Saturday 18 May 2019 until 1200 hours on Sunday 19 May 2019, or when the works have been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle, to proceed along Avenue Road, between its junctions with Perowne Way and Tamar Close. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The closure is required for safety during works to the railway bridge.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Leed Street, Sandown, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Revocation of One-Way Restriction) Order No 2 2019

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from approx. 0001 hours on Friday 17 May 2019 until approx. 1800 hours on Friday 28 June 2019, or until the carriageway resurfacing works in Fitzroy Street has been completed, the one-way restriction will be revoked along Leed Street, between its junctions with St Johns Road and Broadway. The revocation is required to facilitate the Fitzroy Street resurfacing works.

The closures are for carriageway and footway repairs, resurfacing, drainage works, verge maintenance and kerbing works between Friday 17 May 2019 and Friday 28 June 2019. • The Isle of Wight Council (Hazelmere Avenue, Binstead, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure and Parking Restrictions) Order No 1 2019 – Hazelmere Avenue will be closed between Binstead Lodge Road and the end of the highway. There is no alternative route.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Coniston Avenue, Binstead, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure and Parking Restrictions) Order No 1 2019 – Coniston Avenue will be closed between Binstead Lodge Road and the end of the highway. There is no alternative route.

Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that between Friday 17 May 2019 and Friday 28 June 2019 the following roads will be closed for both day and night for a period of approximately 8 weeks to enable the next planned programme of road reconstruction to be completed.  No vehicle or person may use or cause any animal to use the following roads; and that no vehicle is permitted to wait on the following roads or within 50 metres on any adjoining side road where indicated by traffic signs.

These works may include carriageway and footway reconstruction, resurfacing, drainage works, verge maintenance and kerbing works.  In some cases, it may be necessary to close these sections of roads on more than one occasion within this timeframe. • The Isle of Wight Council (Fitzroy Street and George Street, Sandown, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure and Parking Restrictions) Order No 2 2019 – Fitzroy Street will be closed between its junctions with Melville Street and Station Avenue. The closure for George Street, between Fitzroy Street and Leed Street, is to facilitate the Fitzroy Street resurfacing works. The alternative route will be signposted locally.

The alternative route will be signposted locally.
