TEMPORARY TRAFFIC ORDERS

Date effective: Friday 18th October 2019

Notice is hereby given that the Isle of Wight Council in not less than seven days from the appearance of this Notice, under Section 14 (1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, proposes to make the following Orders: –

• The Isle of Wight Council (South Street, Newport, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order 5 2019

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that between 2200 and 0600 hours from Friday 25 November 2019 until Friday 1 November 2019, or when the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along South Street, between its junctions with Church Litten and St James Street. The alternative route will be signposted locally.  The closure is required for safety high friction surfacing works.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Seven Sisters Road, Ventnor, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 6 2019

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that for two days between approx. 0900 and 1600 hours each day, from Monday 28 October 2019 until Wednesday 30 October 2019, or when the works have been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle, to proceed along Seven Sister Road, between its junctions with Undercliff Drive and St Lawrence Shute. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The closure is required for safety during vegetation cutting works.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Oakwood Road, Ryde, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2019

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that for one day between approx. 0900 and 1600 hours, from Wednesday 30 October 2019 until Friday 1 November 2019, or when the works have been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle, to proceed along Oakwood Road, between its junctions with Grenville Drive and Monterey Road. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The closure is required for safety during carriageway repairs.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Nunnery Lane, Newport, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 2 2019

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that for one day between approx. 0900 and 1600 hours each day, from Wednesday 30 October 2019 until Friday 1 November 2019, or when the works have been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle, to proceed along Nunnery Lane, between its junctions with Whitcombe Road and Watergate Road. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The closure is required for safety during carriageway repairs.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Atherley Road, Shanklin, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 2 2019

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that for one day between approx. 0900 and 1600 hours each day, from Wednesday 30 October 2019 until Friday 1 November 2019, or when the works have been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle, to proceed along Atherley Road, between its junctions with Wilton Park Road and Regent Street. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The closure is required for safety during carriageway repairs.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Beachfield Road, Sandown, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2019

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that for two days between approx. 0930 and 1530 hours each day, from Friday 25 October 2019 until Wednesday 30 October 2019, or when the works have been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle, to proceed along Beachfield Road, between its junctions with Royal Crescent and Royal Street. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The closure is required for safety during carriageway repairs.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Medina Way, Newport, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 3 2019

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that for two nights between approx. 1930 and 2300 hours, from Tuesday 29 October 2019 until Wednesday 30 October 2019, or when the works have been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle, to proceed along a) Medina Way, northbound, between its junctions with Holyrood Street slipway to its junction with St Marys roundabout and b) Medina Way, southbound, between its junctions with St Marys roundabout and Riverway slip road. The alternative route will be signposted locally and only one side will be closed at any time. The closure is required for safety during vegetation maintenance works.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Guadeloupe Road, Sandown, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order 1 2019

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0001 hours on Friday 1 November 2019 until 1800 hours on 1 May 2021, or when the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Guadeloupe Road, between its junctions with High Street and the end of the highway. There is no alternative route.  The closure is required for safety due to cracks in the road appearing.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Prospect Road, Newport, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2019

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that between approx. 0900 and 1600 hours each day, from Monday 28 October 2019 until Friday 1 November 2019, or when the works have been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle, to proceed along Prospect Road, for its entire length. There is no alternative route. The closure is required for safety during drainage investigations.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Cycle Track from Newport to Sandown, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Pedestrians, Cyclists and Equestrians) Order No 1 2019

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that between approx. 0900 hours on Monday 28 October 2019 until 1600 hours on Friday 6 December 2019, or when the works have been completed, no person shall cause any pedestrian, cyclist or equestrian, to proceed along Cycle Track from Newport to Sandown, between its junctions with Langbridge and Main Road, Alverstone. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The closure is required for safety during bridge deck replacement works.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Baring Road, Cowes, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 2 2019

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that for one day between approx. 0800 and 1600 hours, from Tuesday 29 October 2019 until Thursday 31 October 2019, or when the works have been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle, to proceed along Baring Road, between its junctions with Ward Avenue and Castle Hill. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The closure is required for safety during retaining wall maintenance.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Mitchells Road, Ryde, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 3 2019

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that between approx. 0730 and 1600 hours each day, from Tuesday 29 October 2019 until Monday 4 November 2019, or when the works have been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle, to proceed along Mitchells Road, for its entire length. There is no alternative route. The closure is required for safety during carriageway repairs.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Pelham Road, Cowes, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 4 2019

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that between approx. 0730 and 1600 hours each day, from Wednesday 30 October 2019 until Tuesday 5 November 2019, or when the works have been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle, to proceed along Pelham Road, between its junctions with Bridge Road and South Road. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The closure is required for safety during Carriageway repairs.

Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that between 0630 hours and 1800 hours on approximately 1 to 10 days, or when the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner; that no vehicle or person may use, or cause any animal to use the following roads; and that no vehicle is permitted to wait on the following roads or within 50 metres on any adjoining side road where indicated by traffic signs.

The closures are for carriageway and footway repairs, resurfacing, drainage works, verge maintenance and kerbing works between Friday 25 October 2019 and Friday 6 December 2019. Exact dates, durations and access information will be communicated to affected businesses and residents via letter and advanced warning signs before the scheme commences. It may be necessary to close this section of road on more than one occasion within this timeframe:

• The Isle of Wight Council (Mill Road, St Helens, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure and Parking Restrictions) Order No 2 2019 – Mill Road will be closed for its entire length. The alternative route will be signposted locally.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Hambrough Road, Ventnor, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure and Parking Restrictions) Order No 2 2019 – Hambrough Road will be closed for its entire length. The alternative route will be signposted locally.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Ferncliff Road, Sandown, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure and Parking Restrictions) Order No 3 2019 – Ferncliff Road will be closed for its entire length. There is no alternative route.

• The Isle of Wight Council (York Avenue, East Cowes, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure and Parking Restrictions) Order No 4 2019 – York Avenue will be closed for its entire length. The alternative route will be signposted locally.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Chapel Street, Newport, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure and Parking Restrictions) Order No 3 2019 – Chapel Street will be closed for its entire length. The alternative route will be signposted locally.

• The Isle of Wight Council (West Street, Seaview, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure and Parking Restrictions) Order No 1 2019 – West Street will be closed for its entire length. The alternative route will be signposted locally.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Castle Road, Newport, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure and Parking Restrictions) Order No 7 2019 – Castle Road will be closed for its entire length. The alternative route will be signposted locally.

Notice is hereby given that the following Orders have been made under Section 14 (1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984: –

• The Isle of Wight Council (Park Road, Cowes, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2019

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that for one day between approx. 1930 and 2300 hours from Wednesday 23 October 2019 until Friday 25 October 2019, or when the works have been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle, to proceed along Park Road, between its junctions with Brooklands Road and Princes Street. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The closure is required for safety during highway maintenance works.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Glen Path, Niton, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2019

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that between approx. 0900 and 1600 hours on Tuesday 22 October 2019, or when the works have been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle, to proceed along Glen Path, between its junctions with Glen Approach and School Lane. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The closure is required for safety during tree maintenance works.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Upper Highland and Lower Highland Road, Ryde, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2019

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that for one day between approx. 0900 and 1600 hours from Monday 21 October 2019 until Wednesday 23 October 2019, or when the works have been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle, to proceed along Upper Highland and Lower Highland Road, between its junctions with Surbiton Grove and St Johns Hill. • The Isle of Wight Council (Green Street, Ryde, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 2 2019

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that for one night between approx. 1930 and 0600 hours from Friday 18 October 2019 until Friday 8 November 2019, or when the works have been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle, to proceed along Green Street, between its junctions with West Street and High Street. • The Isle of Wight Council (West Street, Ryde, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 5 2019

• The Isle of Wight Council (Broadway, Sandown, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2019

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that for one night between approx. 2000 and 0500 hours from Friday 18 October 2019 until Saturday 26 October 2019, or when the works have been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle, to proceed along Broadway, between its junctions with Station Avenue and Winchester Park Road. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The closure is required for safety during utility reinstatement works.

• The Isle of Wight Council (High Street, Bembridge, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 2 2019

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from approx. 0900 hours on Monday 21 October 2019 until 1600 hours on Friday 25 October 2019, or when the works have been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle, to proceed along High Street, between its junctions with Mill Road and Lychens Close. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The closure is required for safety during drainage investigation works.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Zig Zag Road, Ventnor, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 2 2019

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that for one day between approx. 0900 and 1600 hours from Monday 21 October 2019 until Wednesday 23 October 2019, or when the works have been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle, to proceed along Zig Zag Road, between its junctions with Ocean View Road and Bellevue Road. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The closure is required for safety during carriageway repairs.

• The Isle of Wight Council (Portland Street, Newport, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure and Parking Restrictions) Order No 2 2019 – Portland Street will be closed for its entire length. The alternative route will be signposted locally.
