A number of theatrical productions are set to take place across the Isle of Wight this November, with everything from hit musicals and comedy to pantomime on offer.
With autumn now in full swing, there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy live entertainment across the Island over the coming weeks.
Here’s a look at some of the productions taking to the stage this month.
ANASTASIA – SHANKLIN THEATRE – 5th–7th November
Curtain Call Creative returns to Shanklin Theatre with the hit Broadway musical Anastasia, promising audiences an evening of romance, mystery and adventure.
Set between the final days of the Russian Empire and the glittering streets of 1920s Paris, the production follows Anya, a young woman with no memory of her past who sets out to discover her true identity.
Joined by charming conman Dimitry and former aristocrat Vlad, Anya embarks on an extraordinary journey while being pursued by those determined to keep her secrets buried.
Featuring well-known songs including Journey to the Past, Once Upon a December and Paris Holds the Key, the production will include lavish costumes, professional sets and a full live orchestra.
Tickets are available via the Shanklin Theatre website.
SPARKLE & SHINE – EAST COWES TOWN HALL – 22nd November
TheatreTrain’s youngest performers will take centre stage at East Cowes Town Hall for Sparkle & Shine, a production created especially for children aged between 4 and 9.
The show gives the youngsters an opportunity to experience the magic of performing, helping them build confidence from rehearsals through to the big day.
For some, it will be their very first theatrical performance.
Such has been the excitement surrounding the production that tickets sold out within just 48 hours.
LADIES DAY – BEMBRIDGE VILLAGE HALL – 26th–29th November
Bembridge Little Theatre Club will stage the warm-hearted comedy Ladies Day, following four fish-packing workers as they swap their hairnets for glamorous hats and head to Royal Ascot.
Pearl, Jan, Sheppey and Linda are looking forward to a day of excitement and glamour, but their trip soon brings unexpected revelations, tested friendships and a few surprises.
As secrets emerge and tempers fray, their accumulator bet continues to win, leaving the four women wondering whether their luck could deliver an even bigger prize.
Beneath the humour, the play explores friendship, ambition and the resilience of working-class women.
