A Sandown pair accused of stealing goods worth thousands of pounds from a rented property are set to stand trial next year.
Hannah Davies and Mark Wilde, of Avenue Road in Sandown, denied 2 charges of residential theft other than an automatic machine or meter when they appeared at the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court back in September.
The pair appeared before His Honour Judge Ashworth at the Isle of Wight Crown Court yesterday (Monday).
The court heard that, in 2024, the property owner had agreed to rent the property to the pair. Following their exit, the owner attended the address where it was noticed that a number of large goods were no longer there.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary was alerted, and officers attended the property. Court heard that the stolen goods held a value of between £2,250-£3,000.
At this week’s hearing, Mr Wilde also entered a not guilty plea to a further matter of theft, allegedly committed between October and November 2024,
The case was adjourned, with the pair set to stand trial at the Isle of Wight Crown Court on 13th September 2027.
Davies and Wilde were released on unconditional bail until that time.
