A car has been left in a mangled state following a crash on the main road connecting Brading to Sandown tonight (Tuesday).
Emergency services are on scene at Morton Common, where a brand new white Ford Puma has collided with a tree, spinning the car 180 degrees.
Significant damage has been caused to the front end of the car, the only vehicle involved in the crash – which occurred just before 21:20.
The female driver is being assessed, but is thought to have escaped any serious injury.
Police have closed the road in both directions, with all traffic being diverted by Yaverland until further notice.
Southern Vectis buses are on diversion.
