A 29-year-old man who assaulted his own father, breached a restraining order and then smashed 2 windows, before escaping from lawful custody in Freshwater, has been jailed for 30 weeks.
Kelvin Ouvry, of no fixed abode, had been due to stand trial over a series of offences committed between 7th May and 9th May this year, but changed his pleas to guilty on Thursday (22nd October).
On Thursday 7th May, Ouvry breached a restraining order by making contact, either directly or indirectly, with his own father, despite being prohibited from doing so.
The order had originally been imposed by Isle of Wight Magistrates’ Court on 2nd September 2025. On the same day, Ouvry also damaged 2 windows belonging to his dad without lawful excuse.
The following day, Friday 8th May, Ouvry assaulted his father by beating him. Then, just a day later on Saturday 9th May, Ouvry escaped from lawful custody in Freshwater while being detained on a criminal charge.
He had previously pleaded guilty to escaping from lawful custody on 8th June.
Ouvry was handed a 20-week prison sentence for breaching the restraining order, with a further 10 weeks imposed consecutively for escaping from custody. A 7-week prison sentence for assault by beating was ordered to run concurrently, while no separate penalty was imposed for the criminal damage.
He was also ordered to pay £200 in compensation.
