Night Golf made a welcome return to Westridge Golf Club for the first time since before the COVID-19 pandemic, highlighting a busy fortnight of competitions.
Members took to the course at dusk on Friday 9th October, using specially illuminated golf balls to compete in an event that had not been held for several years.
The competition proved remarkably close, with just 2 shots separating the entire field and all 3 leading teams finishing on 23 points.
Jasmine Royl, Chris Royl, Helen Whittaker and Louise Webb eventually emerged victorious on countback, ahead of Phil Brennan, Warren Thomas, Niall Goddard and Dan Smith.
Glen Winnard, Reg Miller, Claire Matejowsky and Bob Singh-Bansi completed the top 3.
The fortnight concluded with the Autumn Shield on Sunday 18th October, when members battled an autumnal chill and strong winds to produce some impressive scores.

Alfie Boxall, Louise Webb and Jan Little claimed the trophy with a net score of 54, finishing a single shot ahead of Steve Hull, William Humphries and Paddy Kearney.
For Alfie, it marked further success in the competition, having also been part of the winning team in 2025.
Third place was decided on countback, with Glen Winnard, Bowy White and Alan Harnett taking the final podium position on 56 net thanks to a stronger performance over the last 6 holes.
There was further success for Alfie in the Generational Golf competition on Saturday 17th October, when he joined Lorraine Swallow and Zane Cohen to take victory with 49 points.
The trio finished 2 points clear of Melvyn Probyn, Harrison Lake and Oliver Slade, while Chris Royl, Nikki Glasgow and Malcolm Prouten placed third.
