A 38-year-old Sandown man charged in connection with a double stabbing in Shanklin is to appear at the Isle of Wight Crown Court next month.
Kevin Williams, of Downsview, faces charges of Section 18 wounding with intent and possession of a knife/blade/sharp pointed article in a public place.
The charges relate to an incident on Palmerston Road in Shanklin on 12th October, during which 2 men suffered minor injuries reportedly caused by a knife.
Police and paramedics descended on the town shortly before 16:00, with a large cordon established between the junctions with Queens Road and Park Road.
Both injured men were taken to St Mary’s Hospital for treatment, with Island Echo understanding that at least 1 of the men suffered injuries to his hand.
Williams was subsequently charged with 2 offences and appeared before the Isle of Wight Magistrates’ Court last Wednesday (14th October).
The case has now been sent up to the Isle of Wight Crown Court, where a Plea and Trial Preparation Hearing (PTPH) is scheduled for 16th November.
No pleas have been entered.
