63-year-old Andrew Burse has admitted attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child by sending photographs of his penis and encouraging the youngster to watch him masturbate.
Burse, of Brambles Lane in Cowes, appeared before magistrates on 6th October, where he pleaded guilty to 2 sexual offences involving children.
The court heard that last year, Burse attempted to communicate sexually with who he thought was a person under the age of 16 for his own sexual gratification.
The offence involved sending explicit photographs of his penis and encouraging the ‘child’ to watch him masturbate.
The paedophile was soon arrested, with a forensic search of his digital devices revealing a Category A indecent image of a child. Category A is the most serious classification of indecent images of children.
Magistrates adjourned the case until 4th December, when Burse is due to return to the Isle of Wight Magistrates’ Court for sentencing.
A pre-sentence report will be prepared ahead of that hearing.
