Firefighters, police officers and prison staff are preparing to step into the boxing ring as Blue Light Fight Night returns to the Isle of Wight on Saturday 7th November.
The charity showdown will take place at GG’s Bar & Restaurant, with Isle of Wight firefighters joining forces with Isle of Wight Police to form a Blue Light Team taking on HMP Isle of Wight.
Organisers say the event will bring plenty of rivalry between the services, with fighters already training ahead of the night.
While bragging rights and a trophy will be up for grabs, the event will raise money for 2 Isle of Wight charities – Kissy Puppy and The Wight Brainy Bunch.
A spokesperson for The Wight Brainy Bunch has said:
“We’re really excited to be resurrecting Blue Light Fight Night.
“It’s been a few years since the last one so there’s clearly going to be a bit of rivalry between the services – but ultimately, everyone stepping into the ring is doing it to raise money for charity, and we’re incredibly grateful to every fighter, trainer, sponsor and supporter for getting behind the event.”
The event is being sponsored by Blue Line Security, while Phoenix Boxing Club, Ryde Amateur Boxing Club and the Hiit Centre are helping to prepare the fighters.
Doors will open at 18:30, with the first bout getting underway at 19:30.
General admission tickets cost £25 including booking fee, while VIP ringside tables of 10 with table service cost £600 including booking fee.
The event is for over-18s only.
