A Shanklin man involved in a road traffic collision on the main road into East Cowes last December has denied driving without due care and attention.
53-year-old Gareth James of Grange Road in Shanklin, appeared at the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court charged with a single motoring offence.
Prosecutor, Serena Edwards, told court that the alleged offence occurred on the 15th December on Whippingham Road, and saw a Ford Focus, driven by James, and a Landrover Freelander collide – as previously reported by Island Echo.
It is alleged that on that day in question, James drove without due care and attention, a charge he denies.
With a not guilty plea entered, the case was adjourned for trial. James will next appear at the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court on 2nd December.
He was bailed unconditionally until that time.
