A collision is forcing motorists heading to the West Wight to divert this evening (Saturday).
Police, paramedics and firefighters were called to Middle Road – between Broad Lane and Tapnell Farm – at around 16:30, following reports of a collision.
At the scene, a Citroen and a Land Rover have collided. Both vehicles seem to have been heading toward Freshwater.
Those involved were tended to at the scene before being transported to St Mary’s Hospital.
As well as a single fire appliance from Newport, a fire officer was also tasked.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary closed Middle Road at the junction with the B3399 at Chessell.
A closure has also been put in place at the B3401 junction toward Newbridge.
Police remain on scene awaiting recovery of the involved vehicles.
