4 independent Isle of Wight food businesses have joined forces throughout November to raise money for retired prison service dogs, with donations being made from every special meal deal and children’s meal sold.
Terry’s Fish & Chip Shop in Wootton, Hayden’s Fish & Chip Shop in Ryde, Shanklin Smash Co and The Galley in East Cowes are teaming up to support Tired Paws, a charitable trust dedicated to helping retired prison dogs.
The month-long fundraiser will see each business introduce a special charity meal deal, with 50p from every one sold being donated directly to the cause.
An additional 50p will also be donated from every children’s meal purchased at the participating businesses throughout November.
The collaboration aims to raise both funds and awareness for Tired Paws and the retired working dogs it supports.
Organisers hope the initiative will encourage Islanders to support their local independent food businesses while contributing to a worthwhile cause.
Emily, from Shanklin Smash Co and The Galley in East Cowes, has expressed her excitement about the collaboration, which brings together 4 independent businesses from across the Isle of Wight.
The businesses are hoping to reach as many Islanders as possible during the month-long campaign, raising awareness of retired prison service dogs and generating a significant donation for the charitable trust.
Customers wishing to get involved can visit any of the 4 participating takeaways during November and purchase a special charity meal deal or children’s meal to contribute to the fundraising total.
The initiative will run throughout November at Terry’s Fish & Chip Shop in Wootton, Hayden’s Fish & Chip Shop in Ryde, Shanklin Smash Co and The Galley in East Cowes.
