Blackgang Chine’s popular Fiesta of the Dead Halloween celebration is set to return for the final time this October half-term, with the Isle of Wight attraction confirming that the colourful event will not be returning in 2027.
After several years of bringing music, fire and vibrant displays to the Island each autumn, Fiesta of the Dead will take its final bow with 5 evenings of entertainment later this month.
The event, inspired by Mexico’s Día de los Muertos celebrations, will take place on 23rd October, 24th October, 27th October, 28th October and 29th October, running from 17:00-21:00 each evening.
Rather than offering traditional Halloween scares, Fiesta of the Dead transforms the theme park into the Land of the Dead, with an emphasis on light, music and family-friendly entertainment.
Visitors will be greeted by the Gate Keeper, who will guide them across a rainbow bridge into a world of glowing decorations, inflatable displays and roaming performers.
Cowboy Town will once again become the centre of the celebrations, with live DJs providing music between performances.
There will be 2 fire shows each evening, alongside aerial acrobatics and appearances from immersive characters including the Miss-Fortune Teller and roaming glow performers.
The Sacred Fire Garden will also return, offering visitors an opportunity to remember loved ones by sending messages ‘to the other side’.
Other attractions will include face painting, marshmallow toasting and a glow shop, while Mexican-inspired street food such as chipotle chicken and nachos will be available.
Dogs will also be welcome to join their owners for the celebrations.
Blackgang Chine will remain open every day throughout October half-term, giving families the opportunity to enjoy the park’s usual attractions alongside the 5 special Fiesta evenings.
Visitors can choose between a combined day and evening ticket, allowing entry from 10:00 and including free return visits for the following 7 days, or an evening-only ticket providing access from 17:00.
Those attending in the evening will also have the opportunity to enjoy the park’s rides after dark.
Blackgang Chine Season Pass holders can attend Fiesta of the Dead at no additional cost and will continue to receive their usual discounts of 20% on food and drink and 15% on retail purchases.
Dan White, Park Manager at Blackgang Chine, has said:
“Fiesta of the Dead has become a real highlight of the island’s autumn calendar, and we’re so grateful to everyone who has joined us over the years.
“We want to send it off in style, so if you’ve never been, or you want one more night in the Land of the Dead, now’s the time.”
The announcement follows another successful year for Blackgang Chine, which recently picked up 3 Bronze awards at the 2026 UK Theme Park Awards.
The attraction was recognised in the Best Seaside Park, Best Landscaped Park and Best Social Media categories, with the latter 2 representing new accolades for the park.
Although organisers have confirmed that Fiesta of the Dead will not return next year, no reason has been given for the decision to bring the event to an end.
With just 5 evenings scheduled for its final run, visitors are being encouraged to secure tickets early.
