A Newport care home has been recognised on the national stage after reaching the finals in 2 categories at this year’s Dementia Care Awards.
Vecta House Care Home, which provides specialist dementia and nursing care in Newport, was shortlisted for the Dementia Employer Award in recognition of its commitment to creating a supportive working environment and delivering high-quality care.
The home also celebrated individual success after Home Nurse Louise Richardson was named a finalist in the highly competitive Dementia Care Home Worker Award, recognising her dedication and outstanding care for residents.
Representatives from Vecta House attended the awards ceremony at the Hilton London Bankside, with Louise supported on the evening by Acting Deputy Manager Micha Legaspi.
Although neither finalist took home the top award, the care home says reaching the national finals from hundreds of entries submitted from across the UK is a significant achievement.
The management team said:
“To be recognized as a national finalist in two separate categories is a huge achievement for everyone at Vecta House.
“We are incredibly proud of Louise and our entire staff team. This recognition reflects the daily hard work, love, and unwavering dedication everyone pours into making sure our residents live happy, fulfilled lives.”
