A 69-year-old man from Totland has been arrested after allegedly taking ‘inappropriate’ images of children in Home Bargains.
It was at around 15:00 on Tuesday afternoon (29th September) that Police were alerted to a man’s suspicious behavior.
It had been reported to Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary that a male had taken inappropriate photos of girls inside Home Bargains, on the Carisbrooke Retail Park on Taylor Road, Gunville.
The man was described to officers as white, aged in his early 50s, around 5ft 8in tall and wearing a dark base ball cap, dark glasses, grey trainers, black trousers and a black jumper.
It is believed a woman may have witnessed this incident, and warned a group of girls about the man.
Police are now urging that woman, or anyone else who may have seen anything suspicious, to come forward.
It has been confirmed that as part of ongoing enquiries, a 69-year-old man from Totland was this week arrested on suspicion of voyeurism and possessing indecent photographs/pseudo-photographs of a child.
He has since been bailed.
