World-renowned guitarist Albert Lee is heading to Newport this Sunday for an intimate live performance at Strings Bar & Venue.
The acclaimed British musician will take to the stage at Strings Bar & Venue, 9 Bowling Green Lane, Newport, on Sunday 4th October, with doors opening at 19:30.
Lee is renowned for his blistering speed, clean tone and distinctive hybrid-picking technique, earning him the nickname ‘the guitarist’s guitarist’.
Over a career spanning more than 6 decades, he has won admiration from some of the biggest names in music, with Eric Clapton previously describing him as one of the world’s greatest guitarists.
Lee has performed and recorded with a host of major artists, while his influence also extends into guitar design.
After befriending the Ball family in the early 1970s, he helped develop some of Ernie Ball Music Man’s early guitars. The company later launched a signature Albert Lee model, which remains popular with country and rock guitarists.
Sunday’s show will give Island music fans a rare opportunity to see the celebrated guitarist performing up close alongside his band.
