A legendary name from the 2 Tone ska revival is heading to Newport next week, as The Beat featuring Ranking Jnr prepares to take to the stage at Strings Bar & Venue.
The band will perform at the venue on Friday 13th November, bringing an evening of ska, reggae and punk-inspired music to the Isle of Wight.
The Beat became a defining fixture of the late-1970s and early-1980s 2 Tone ska revival movement, building a reputation for blending traditional Jamaican ska and reggae with elements of punk rock, pop and soul.
Now fronted by Ranking Jnr, the son of the late, great Ranking Roger, the band continues to carry the spirit of The Beat forward with its distinctive sound and energetic live performances.
Fans can expect an evening packed with infectious rhythms and the unmistakable sound that helped make the group a celebrated name in British music.
The performance takes place at Strings Bar & Venue on Friday 13th November, with tickets available here.
