Young footballers from Oakfield are combining fundraising with helping their local community as they work towards a trip to ESF (European Soccer Festival) Butlins in 2027.
Oakfield U9 Ospreys are raising money towards the cost of attending the ESF football tournament at Butlins next year.
As part of their fundraising efforts, the youngsters are also giving something back to the community by taking part in a beach clean-up in Ryde.
The team headed to the beach on Saturday (26th September), helping to clear litter while working together away from the football pitch.
The fundraising campaign will help towards the cost of the Ospreys’ trip to ESF Butlins in 2027, where the young players will have the opportunity to take part in a football tournament and enjoy the experience as a team.
Those behind the fundraising say they are proud of the boys for supporting their local community while working towards their goal.
A GoFundMe page has been set up to support the fundraising effort and, as of this morning (Monday), £291 of the £500 target had already been raised.
The team has thanked everyone who has donated so far and says any further support would be hugely appreciated.
