A detached 3-bedroom house with structural movement fetched £138,000 in the latest Clive Emson auction, fetching £13,000 above the guide price with 17 bids.
It was among 177 lots listed across southern England in Clive Emson Auctioneers’ first online auction of 8 this year.
Freehold, Puttas End, 10 Castle Court, Ventnor, has sea views and a balcony.
Rob said:
“We’ve had several properties with structural movement sell in our auctions, with Puttas End being the latest.”
Coming in at £178,000 was a freehold house with 3 bedrooms at 1 Pelham Road, Cowes – there were 23 bids, with the final one at £23,000 above the lower end of the guide price.
Freehold land fronting Esplanade, Sandown, sold for £100,000, as previously reported by Island Echo.
Rob Marchant, Island auctioneer, said:
“We are not privy to any plans the new owner may or may not have for the land, which went for £100,000.
“The strip of land is considered strategically important in that it links larger parcels at either end of the former Ocean Hotel.
“The land fronts the Esplanade with the beach and seafront beyond and, in addition to its strategic importance, has scope and potential in its own right for future uses, subject to all necessary consents being obtainable.
“There is vehicular access from the corner of the Esplanade and Esplanade Road at the northern end of the site.”
A number of other properties on the Island are re-available from the February auction, which concluded on Wednesday – https://www.cliveemson.co.uk/properties/.
The next online auction by Clive Emson Auctioneers, in its 37th year, concludes on 26th March, with bidding live from 48 hours beforehand.
Lot entries close on 2nd March, with the catalogue online from 5th March.
