Managing director of SeaSafe in Cowes, Jeremy Dale OBE, has been recognised for a Lifetime of Advancing Maritime Safety as well as presented with the prestigious Outstanding Contribution Award.
Sponsored by Maritime Journal, the Seawork 2026 award recognises Jeremy’s exceptional contribution to the maritime industry over more than 3 decades.
Throughout his career, Jeremy has been at the forefront of maritime safety innovation, combining technical expertise, visionary leadership and an unwavering commitment to protecting lives at sea.
Jeremy’s pioneering work has transformed life-saving equipment used by commercial, military and leisure mariners across the globe, with his practical innovations significantly improving safety and survival outcomes, while his influence has helped shape industry standards and best practice throughout the maritime sector.
A respected inventor and industry leader, Jeremy was awarded an OBE for Services to Maritime Safety in recognition of his outstanding achievements. His dedication to advancing safety at sea continues to inspire the maritime community and drive innovation across the industry.
The award was presented by Andrew Webster, CEO of Maritime Journal, during this year’s Seawork Exhibition.
Speaking at the presentation, Andrew Webster said:

Established in 1966, SeaSafe are a British company who specialise in marine safety clothing and marine safety products, best known for pioneering the development of the all-in-one foul weather coat which features an integrated lifejacket.
