Vectis Historic Vehicle Club will celebrate vehicles through the ages, on Sunday 19th July, in aid of Mountbatten Isle of Wight and Breathe Easy Isle of Wight.
This year’s show will take place at the Royal Isle of Wight County Show Ground in Northwood, between 10:00 and 16:00.
Classic, historic and vintage buses, cars, lorries, military vehicles and motorbikes will all be on display, alongside static engines, tractors, trikes and vans. Also among the attractions will be food, craft stalls and a raffle*.
Entry is £5 for everyone aged seventeen and over. Children aged 0-16 years old go free.
Although gates open at 10:00, the Isle of Wight High Sheriff, Nigel Hartley MBE will officially open the event at midday. Meanwhile, from 14:00, Deputy Lord Lieutenant, Geoff Underwood, will judge 5 vehicle categories.
The Vectis Historic Vehicle Club has been running since 1973 and has over 270 members. The club’s committee meets regularly at Mountbatten Isle of Wight’s John Cheverton Centre community space and cafe in Newport and its members showcase vehicles from the 1920s to the current day.
Each year, the club hosts an open day and it has so far raised many thousands for Island-based charities.
The club has supported Mountbatten Isle of Wight for over 20 years, recognising the value of end-of-life care and raising over £50,000. This year, the show will also support Breathe Easy Isle of Wight — a group for Islanders living with a chronic lung condition.
*Please note, the raffle will be drawn at 15:30 and prizes must be collected on the day.
