A 27-year-old Shanklin man has pleaded guilty to 2 drug offences dating back more than 2 years after police found cannabis, psilocybin and thousands of pounds in cash.
Dom Page, of East Mount Road in Shanklin, appeared before the Isle of Wight Magistrates’ Court this afternoon (Friday) for his first hearing in relation to the 2 charges.
Page pleaded guilty to possession of the class B drug, cannabis, with intent to supply and guilty to possession of the class A drug, psilocybin (magic mushrooms).
Prosecutor Serena Edwards told the court that Page was seen driving around Shanklin and Sandown at high speed on 10th February 2024 before being stopped by police.
Officers searched Page following the traffic stop and found what the prosecution described as a large quantity of cannabis, as well as cash concealed in the lining of his jacket.
Police subsequently searched Page’s home address as part of their investigation.
The court heard that further drugs were found at the property, including psilocybin, commonly known as magic mushrooms.
Ms Edwards said officers also found between £9,000 and £11,000 in cash, along with a number of weapons.
Defending Page, Oscar Vincent told Magistrates that his client had no previous convictions or antecedents and had committed no further offences since his arrest in 2024.
Mr Vincent said a pre-sentence report would set out what he described as Page’s lesser role in the drug-dealing operation.
Magistrates adjourned the case for the preparation of a pre-sentence report.
Dom Page is due to return to court for sentencing on 1st December.
