Isle of Wight-based Wild Isle Nature School has been named a finalist in 2 national categories at The Class Business Awards: Rising Star of the Year and Adult Class Provider of the Year.
The Class Business Awards celebrate excellence, community impact, and innovation among independent activity providers, franchisees and class-based businesses across the UK.
Wild Isle’s double selection highlights both the business’s rapid growth as an innovative outdoor education provider and its transformational impact on adult well-being across the Island.
Founded by local educator Elle Frankling, Wild Isle began 2 years ago as a solo venture. Driven by an innovative model combining Elle’s passion for the outdoors with her professional teaching background, the setting offers a unique approach to outdoor learning.
Wild Isle blends child-led learning based on individual interests with a bespoke seasonal curriculum. Through rapid community engagement, local business partnerships, and participation in business development initiatives like Go for Growth and Ready to Grow, Wild Isle has grown from a single practitioner into a thriving team of 7.
Elle has said:
“To be recognised nationally as finalists for both Rising Star and Adult Class Provider means the world to our entire team.
“We set out to create something unique to the Island that fosters a deep connection with nature for all ages. Seeing how quickly our community has grown, and the real impact it’s having on people’s lives is incredibly rewarding.”
Wild Isle’s nomination for Adult Class Provider of the Year celebrates its popular Wild Women programme. Held in a woodland garden in Ryde, the sessions give local women space to unwind, connect and enjoy seasonal nature crafts, reflection and conversation around the fire.
The programme recently returned after being paused while Elle recovered from a car accident, making the national recognition particularly significant.
Its impact continues beyond the sessions, with a group of former participants now organising their own regular outdoor gatherings to support their wellbeing.
As Wild Isle continues to expand its offerings across the Island including upcoming seasonal events, Outdoor Education Consultancy and new Early Years provision, the national award recognition solidifies its position as one of the UK’s leading emerging outdoor education providers.
Wild Isle is also offering mobile party hire and wedding play set-ups starting this Autumn. Visit the Wild Isle team at The Appley Manor Wedding Fayre on Sunday 22nd November to chat about what this could look like at your wedding.
