The Happy Haddock fish and chip shops in Sandown and Shanklin have resurfaced under new ownership, to the delight of hungry Islanders.
As previously reported by Island Echo, the 2 popular chippies were suddenly closed back in August.
However, new owners have now taken the helm of both businesses.
Taking to social media, a spokesperson for the firm has said:
“We want to share some exciting news with you – The Happy Haddock is under new ownership, and we can’t wait to serve you again!
“Firstly, we want to extend our heartfelt apologies for any inconvenience caused during our brief closure. We know how much you love our fish and chips, and we appreciate your patience during this transition period.
“Rest assured, our team is working tirelessly behind the scenes to make sure everything is in tip-top shape for our grand reopening. Our commitment to delivering the best fish and chips in town remains unchanged, and we can’t wait to welcome you back with open arms and the delicious aroma of freshly cooked fish and crispy chips.
“While we may have a new face at the helm, our dedication to providing you with the same mouth-watering dishes and outstanding service you know and love will never change. Your support and loyalty mean the world to us, and we promise to continue serving you with the same passion and dedication that has been the heart of The Happy Haddock for years.
“Stay tuned for updates on our reopening date and some exciting surprises we have in store for you! We are counting down the days until we can once again share the joy of a satisfying meal with our amazing customers.
“Thank you for being a part of the Happy Haddock family. We can’t wait to see you soon!”
The news has been widely welcomed on social media.

I am puzzled why the haddock is happy. It has been dragged from the sea, gutted, skinned, filleted, and deep fried in batter, but somehow has a smile on its face. Happy Haddock Eaters might be a more appropriate name for the shops.
Grow up, it’s just a name and logo, the fish and chips are delicious, and that is what counts. Much better than some foreign muck that is served in some take-a-ways, you get my drift.
We do get your drift you are a racist or xenophobe, maybe both. Maybe keep that nonsense to your close minded self.
Buy when you run out of something and you need it in an emergency like toilet role or most probably in your case,a pack of rizla, then the local corner shop run by Indians is the best thing since slice bread then ain’t it??if it weren’t forc the foreign food take away businesses, then you lot would have a very limited diet?? Fish and chips and roast dinners and a fry up, that’s whet the UK is known for hey, but I bet when you go on holiday you don’t moan though either do you? No didn’t think so, imbecile
Apparently the owners of top mops have taken it over.
Oh Fcuk, if it’s anything like the way they use to look after the toilets on the Island
It won’t be a nice Plaice to eat.
I will Cod Off and eat elsewhere.
The Happy Haddock were run very well.
Will the restaurant return?
