This is your weekly round-up of some of the latest court cases heard at the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court.

- Matthew Gulliver, 34, of Adam Terrace, Cowes admitted drug-driving after he was found to be over the legal limit for cocaine while driving on the M6 in Cheshire. He was fined £550, ordered to pay £85 costs and a £220 victim surcharge, and was banned from driving for 12 months.
- Darren Roberts, 41, of Monkton Street, Ryde admitted possessing a locking knife in a public place and possessing cannabis after he was stopped in Spencer Road, Ryde. He was given a 12-month community order with 120 hours of unpaid work, ordered to pay £85 costs and a £114 victim surcharge. The cannabis was ordered to be forfeited and destroyed.
- Constantin Chiricenco, 52, of Angelica Grove, Newport was found guilty of using a handheld mobile phone while driving on Staplers Road, Newport. He was fined £346, ordered to pay £300 costs and a £138 victim surcharge, and had six penalty points added to his driving licence.
- Sol Bridgen, 23, of Harding Road, Ryde admitted drug-driving after he was found to be over the legal limit for benzoylecgonine while driving in Harding Road, Ryde. He was fined £417, ordered to pay £85 costs and a £167 victim surcharge, and was banned from driving for 12 months.
- Jonathan Gorman, 52, of Newport Street, Ryde changed his plea to guilty to criminal damage after damaging a bag belonging to Josie Jackson. He was given a six-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £85 costs.
- Walter Mark Collins, of Teddars Leas, Etchinghill, Folkestone – was found guilty after a trial of failing to comply with an Isle of Wight Council improvement notice requiring remedial work at a property in Monkton Street, Ryde. He was fined £5,000, ordered to pay a £2,000 victim surcharge and £4,251.93 costs, making a total financial penalty of £11,251.93.
