Newport IW Football Club has announced a long-term partnership with WightFibre that will see the local broadband provider become the naming rights partner for the club’s new home, with the new ground to be known as WightFibre Park.
The agreement comes as the club prepares to move into its new ground and also sees WightFibre become Newport’s main sponsor for the next 3 seasons.
As part of the deal, WightFibre’s logo will appear on the First Team’s home shirts, training wear, matchday programmes and club publicity.
The partnership also includes branding throughout the new stadium, with signage at the entrances, around the ground and pitch side.
John Davies, Chairman of Newport IW Football Club, has said:
“This is a huge moment for the club. WightFibre has backed our vision from the start and we’re proud that they’ll be part of this exciting new chapter.
“The new ground has been years in the making and it will give us a home we can all be proud of. Having a well-known Island company alongside us makes it even more special. WightFibre shares our belief in supporting local communities and helping people come together through sport. It feels like a really good fit.
“The partnership goes beyond the stadium name. WightFibre will be part of the club on first team matchdays, on our shirts and across everything we do. We can’t wait to welcome supporters to WightFibre Park.”
John Irvine, Chief Executive of WightFibre, has said:
“We’re delighted to be partnering with Newport IW Football Club at such an exciting time.
“The club has big ambitions, but it’s also deeply rooted in the local community. That’s something that’s important to us too. We’re proud to put our name to the new ground and to support the club as it builds for the future.
“We hope WightFibre Park becomes a place that the whole Island can enjoy, whether that’s watching football, taking part in community events or simply bringing people together.”
The club says the partnership represents more than just a stadium naming rights agreement, with WightFibre set to play a prominent role in Newport IW Football Club’s future as it begins a new chapter at its purpose-built home.
The first match at WightFibre Park – expected to be in mid-August – is now eagerly anticipated as the countdown continues to the opening of the new Community Sports Complex on the Isle of Wight.
