27-year-old Connor Cragg has admitted a violent assault that left another man with a skull fracture following a fight outside Coburg’s in Ryde.
Cragg, currently of HMP Isle of Wight, admitted assault occasioning actual bodily harm and possession of cannabis when he appeared at the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court last week (Friday 3rd July).
Prosecutor Steven Woolfe told the court that in the early hours of 1st June 2025, a fight occurred outside of Coburg’s in Ryde following an altercation in the VIP area of the popular bar.
The court heard how Cragg punched and attacked another male, leaving him with significant facial injuries including swelling to his nose, face and eye, a skull fracture and a haemorrhage.
An appeal was subsequently launched to locate Cragg following the attack, with the 27-year-old arrested later that month. Upon his arrest, a small amount of cannabis was found in his possession.
When interviewed, Cragg initially denied the offence before admitting it, saying he ‘wasn’t thinking’.
The court heard how Cragg has a total of 15 convictions on his record, for a total of 28 offences – 7 of which are against the person.
The 27-year-old is currently in custody on remand for other offences, the court heard.
Magistrates adjourned the case until 8th September. A pre-sentence report will be compiled for that hearing.
