This is your weekly round-up of some of the latest court cases heard at the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court.

• Paris Fleet, 28, of Lavender Way, Newport – admitted assaulting a Sainsbury’s security guard by beating him and stealing 2 bottles of Disaronno and a Maybelline make-up stick, worth a total of £64, from the supermarket on 5th March. Fleet was fined £200 and ordered to pay £50 compensation and £85 costs.
• Sean Buckland, 33, of St Pauls Crescent, Shanklin – admitted using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour towards a man at St Mary’s Hospital, assaulting a hospital security guard who was working as an emergency worker, damaging a police van by repeatedly spitting inside its cage and damaging a window at the Dorset Hotel in Ryde. Buckland was given a community order running until 11th August 2027, with up to 25 days of rehabilitation activity. He was also ordered to pay £200 compensation for the assault on the emergency worker, £50 compensation for the damage to the police van and £50 compensation for the damage at the Dorset Hotel.
• Aimee Horwood, 42, of Springvale Road, Seaview – admitted drink-driving and failing to stop following a road accident in Oak Vale, Ryde, on 25th April. She was found to have 68 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. Horwood was given a community order running until 10th August 2027, including up to 15 days of rehabilitation activity, fined £120 and ordered to pay a £114 surcharge and £85 costs. She was disqualified from driving for 18 months, which can be reduced by 18 weeks upon successful completion of a driving course. Her driving record was also endorsed in relation to the failure to stop.
• Lewis Sadler, 28, of The Pitts, Ventnor – admitted damaging a marble fireplace, damaging a mobile phone, assaulting a woman and possessing cannabis in September 2025. Sadler was given a community order running until 9th February 2028, including 6 months of mental health treatment, up to 35 days of rehabilitation activity and 150 hours of unpaid work. He was ordered to pay £2,800 compensation, a £114 surcharge and £85 costs, and the cannabis was ordered to be forfeited and destroyed. A restraining order was also imposed until 9th August 2028, prohibiting contact with Charlotte O’Neill and attendance at an address in Royal Crescent, Sandown.
• Joe Endler, 25, of Kent Avenue, East Cowes – admitted drug-driving on Lushington Hill, Newport, on 28th March after the level of cannabis in his blood exceeded the specified limit. He was fined £120, ordered to pay a £48 surcharge and £85 costs, and disqualified from driving for 16 months.
• Leigh Canning, 41, of St Michaels Avenue, Ryde – admitted stealing a throw, boxer shorts, socks and hats worth £52.95 from TK Maxx on 29th November 2025. Canning was fined £133 and ordered to pay £52.95 compensation, a £53 surcharge and £85 costs.
• Asa Gough, 28, of Lower Furlongs, Brading – admitted harassing a woman by making repeated and unwanted online contact between 2nd and 14th August 2025. Gough was given a community order running until 13th February 2028, including up to 35 days of rehabilitation activity and 150 hours of unpaid work. He was ordered to pay a £114 surcharge and £100 costs. A restraining order prohibiting contact with the victim was imposed until 13th August 2028.
• Manuel Nunes, 46, of Fellows Road, Cowes – admitted drug-driving in Fellows Road on 27th March after the level of cannabis in his blood exceeded the specified limit. He was fined £120, ordered to pay a £48 surcharge and £85 costs, and disqualified from driving for 12 months.
• Malcolm Brocks, 67, of Esplanade, Ryde – admitted driving a Suzuki on St Johns Road, Newport, without insurance or a valid MOT on 23rd November 2025. He was fined £120, ordered to pay a £48 surcharge and disqualified from driving for 6 months after being given 6 notional penalty points.
• Ben Williams, 33, of Dame Anthonys Close, Ryde – admitted drink-driving on Somerset Road, Ryde, on 4th July. He was found to have 78 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. Williams was fined £811 and ordered to pay a £324 surcharge and £85 costs. He was disqualified from driving for 20 months, which can be reduced by 20 weeks upon successful completion of a driving course.
• Lorraine Stanley, 57, of Ranelagh Road, Lake – was found guilty of damaging a vehicle, causing £35 worth of damage, on 19th May 2025. Stanley was fined £60 and ordered to pay £35 compensation and £300 costs.
