A 15-year-old boy from Newport, who is accused of 8 offences relating to the rape and sexual assault of a young girl, has appeared at the Isle of Wight Youth Court this week.
Magistrates heard that the alleged offences began when the boy was just 11 years old.
Leah Dillon, for the Crown Prosecution Service, told the court that between 1st September 2022 and 7th November 2023, the child allegedly orally raped a child, assaulted a child by sexual touching and caused a child under 13 to watch a sexual act.
Then, between 20th June 2024 and 22nd September 2024, the then 13/14-year-old is said to have sexually assaulted a female by touching, caused a girl under 13 to watch a sexual act by non-consensual touching.
Throughout the period of alleged offending, from 2022, the youth is said to have sent photos or videos of genitals with the intention of causing alarm, distress or humiliation, and attempted to incite a girl aged 13-15 to engage in sexual activity.
Most recently, the child teen defendant is alleged to have made 13x Category C indecent images of a child.
It was said that the teen is to undergo a psychiatric report, with court officials agreeing this is something that needs to happen for the case to progress.
As a result, the case was adjourned to Portsmouth Youth Court on 15th September.
