Young Isle of Wight gymnast Holly Williams has been crowned a national silver medallist after an outstanding performance against competitors from across the UK – and she is now hoping to take her talents to Barcelona in 2027.
Holly, who trains at Legacy Elite Gymnastics Academy in Newport, finished 2nd overall at the IGA Championships after securing a string of impressive results across all 4 apparatus.
She was crowned National Champion on vault after taking 1st place, while also securing 2nd on bars and floor and 5th on beam.
The combined results were enough to earn Holly 2nd place overall and the title of IGA National Silver Medallist.
Her latest success comes after moving up 2 levels since last year.

Holly’s commitment to the sport has now opened the door to further opportunities overseas.
She has been selected to represent Legacy Elite Gymnastics Academy at competitions in both Jersey and Barcelona during 2027.
Her family is now fundraising to help cover the costs involved in getting Holly to Barcelona and supporting her busy training schedule.
Throughout September, Holly’s mum is completing a sponsored walk and other challenges to raise money towards helping her daughter take up the opportunity.
The fundraiser, which has a target of £750 has already seen over £400 of donations raised at the time of publishing.
Holly balances her training commitments with school, with her family saying her love of gymnastics keeps her focused and motivated as she works towards her ambitions.
It isn’t the first time Holly has impressed on the competition floor.
As previously reported by Island Echo, she was among 4 Isle of Wight gymnasts who completed a clean sweep of overall titles at the Arthur Falle IGA Levels event in Jersey earlier this year.
Competing at National Level 8 on that occasion, Holly won gold on vault, bars, beam and floor to be crowned overall champion.
The 4 Isle of Wight gymnasts collectively returned home with 18 medals from the competition.
