Island Mobility has completed a major refurbishment of its Newport showroom, creating a brighter, more modern space where Islanders can see, try and compare mobility and independent living equipment before deciding what is right for them.
The newly refurbished showroom has been designed around accessibility and customer comfort, with a larger assessment centre, dedicated product display areas and an increased range of fully functioning demonstration equipment.
Customers can now get hands-on with a wide selection of products, rather than having to make a decision without first experiencing how the equipment works or feels.
The range includes walkers and rollators, manual wheelchairs, powerchairs, mobility scooters, riser recliner chairs, profiling beds, stairlifts and through-floor home lifts.
Visitors can test mobility products, try different riser recliners, experience profiling beds and see fully functioning stairlift demonstration units in action, meaning customers can compare different options and get a better understanding of what may suit their individual needs before making a purchase.
A wide range of products is also held in stock, allowing many items to be purchased and taken away on the same day.
For larger or more specialist equipment, the Island Mobility team can provide advice, assessments, demonstrations and guidance throughout the process.
Accessibility has been an important part of the refurbishment, with plenty of level access at the showroom as well as free customer parking and full air conditioning.
The business says it wants visiting the showroom to be a relaxed experience, particularly as choosing mobility or independent living equipment can be a personal decision for customers and their families.
Managing Director Marcus Horton said:
“We wanted to make this investment not only in the business, but in the local community we serve. Our aim was to create a welcoming, friendly and comfortable space where people can come in, take their time and try mobility equipment for themselves.
“We know that looking for mobility equipment can sometimes feel daunting, so we want our showroom to be somewhere people feel comfortable asking questions, exploring their options and finding what is right for them.”
There is no pressure to make a purchase, with visitors welcome to browse, ask questions, try different options and leave to consider their choices before making a decision.
The refurbishment marks a continued investment in the long-established Isle of Wight business.
Island Mobility was established in 1965 and has now served the Isle of Wight community for more than 60 years, combining decades of experience with an evolving range of mobility and independent living products.
Whether someone needs a simple walking aid, a mobility scooter or wheelchair, specialist seating or a larger home adaptation such as a stairlift or through-floor lift, the revamped Newport showroom brings the different options together under one roof.
Island Mobility welcomes customers to visit the showroom, meet the team and try the equipment for themselves – whether they already know what they need or are only beginning to explore ways of making everyday life easier.
