2 teenage boys have been arrested on suspicion of causing actual bodily harm after a fellow 16-year-old boy was allegedly kicked and punched during an assault in East Cowes, leaving him with injuries to his face, arms and legs.
Police received a report at 17:16 on Monday that a teenager had been left needing urgent treatment at A&E as a result an assault that took place at Consort Gardens in East Cowes.
The 16-year-old victim is said to have sustained multiple injuries to his face, arms and legs during what has been described to Island Echo as a ‘jumping assault’ by which he was kicked and punched.
It has been said that the teens used chains which they wrapped round their hands as knuckledusters.
Following enquiries, police arrested a 16-year-old boy from Cowes and a 16-year-old boy from East Cowes on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
Both teenagers have since been bailed with conditions until 17th November while enquiries continue.
