31-year-old Callum Eden has been placed on the sex offenders register after pleading guilty to 2 child sex offences.
Eden, of Partridge Road in Newport, appeared before the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court this morning (Tuesday) – accompanied by his mother – where he admitted attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child between 23rd-27th September 2024.
During today’s proceedings, Eden also pleaded guilty to a further offence of possessing 1x Category C indecent/ pseudo-photograph of a child on 9th January 2025.
Magistrates decided that due to mitigating factors such as early guilty pleas and previous good character, the case shall remain in their jurisdiction, where the maximum sentence they can impose is 12 months.
Callum Eden was released under conditional bail, which prohibits him from having unsupervised visits with any child under 18 and means he must allow police officers access to all electrical devices in his possession.
He must also sign as a registered sex offender.
Eden will be sentenced at the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court on 20th October.
