31-year-old Callum Eden has been placed on the sex offenders register after pleading guilty to a child sex offence.
Eden, of Newport, appeared before the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court this morning (Tuesday) where he admitted attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child between 23rd-27th September 2024.
Eden also admitted an offence of making an indecent image of a child, namely 1 category C image.
Magistrates decided that due to mitigating factors such as early guilty pleas and previous good character, the case shall remain in their jurisdiction, where the maximum sentence they can impose is 12 months.
Callum Eden was released under conditional bail, which prohibits him from having unsupervised visits with any child under 18 and means he must allow police officers access to all electrical devices in his possession.
He must also sign as a registered sex offender.
Eden will be sentenced at the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court on 20th October.
Should have been remanded and then sentenced to some serious prison time. He’s clearly a predatory beast and there is no rehabilitation or cure that will fix him
