Wadhams Cafe is set to unveil a completely refreshed food menu next week, with a new bread-led offering showcasing locally sourced produce and partnerships with Isle of Wight businesses.
At the heart of the new menu at the Newport Cafe is a bespoke brioche loaf, created exclusively for Wadhams by Scarrots Lane Bakery.
The specially made brioche forms the foundation of much of the new menu, with the team adopting a bread-led approach to create a food offering designed to be fresh, distinctive and centred around quality ingredients.
Scarrots Lane Bakery is operated by Community Action Isle of Wight, adding another local partnership to a menu focused on supporting Island producers.
The menu has been developed with support from Alex Wibberley of Eat Street, who has worked alongside the Wadhams team to create a more distinctive food offering built around bold flavours and simple food done well.
Alex Wibberley, of Eat Street, has said:
“We wanted to create a menu that was inclusive and that celebrates local produce.
“Wadhams is such a fantastic venue and has tonnes of potential that we want to unlock. Attracting a more varied demographic of customers and partners will be a crucial part of its success.
“I would encourage anyone who hasn’t been in yet to come and enjoy what Wadhams has to offer in their stunning courtyard.”
The local theme continues throughout the menu, with bacon sourced from Isle of Wight farms and a bespoke beef sausage created exclusively for Wadhams by Island Foods.
Produce from The Tomato Stall, Isle of Wight Cheese Company and Isle of Wight Grain also features, alongside a selection of products prepared by Eat Street.
Customers can expect breakfast sandwiches, loaded brioche, toasted sandwiches and flatbreads, with carefully selected ingredients taking centre stage in each dish.
Alongside the new menu, Wadhams has also introduced a new Brownie Bar, offering a pick-and-mix selection of brownies and blondies in a range of flavours from traditional favourites to more unusual combinations. The selection is expected to change regularly.
The venue is also creating new retail spaces for local producers, makers and independent Isle of Wight businesses to showcase and sell their products.
Businesses interested in becoming part of the new retail offering are being encouraged to contact the Wadhams team.
The new menu launches this coming Monday (13th July), with Wadhams saying further collaborations, new ideas and additional developments are already planned over the coming months.
