A charity table tennis tournament has raised £1,800 for Mountbatten Hospice, continuing an annual fundraising tradition now in its fifth year.
The Isle of Wight Table Tennis Association recently presented a cheque for £1,800 to Mountbatten following the tournament, which was held at the Isle of Wight Table Tennis Centre in June.
A total of 48 players took part in this year’s event, including a number who travelled from the mainland, while supporters also turned out to watch the action and help raise funds.
Olivia, from Mountbatten, said:
“We are most grateful, once again, to the IW Table Tennis Association for their support of our work.
“This will greatly assist with our care of patients and their families here at the Hospice.”
Tim Giles, Vice Chair of the Isle of Wight Table Tennis Association, said:
“Our Association is delighted once again with the success of this annual charity tournament for the Hospice, now in its fifth year.

“Our Association hopes to continue supporting the Hospice with this annual event.”
