The Isle of Wight Steam Railway is inviting visitors to climb aboard its Real Ale Train on Saturday (18th July), with heritage rail travel, real ale, food and a special programme of evening trains on offer.
Trains will operate as normal throughout the day before a dedicated evening timetable takes over, allowing passengers to travel into the evening and enjoy refreshments at Havenstreet and Ashey stations.
Visitors can hop on and off throughout the day, with services calling at Wootton, Havenstreet and Ashey stations. During daytime services, trains will stop at Ashey on request.
Bars will open from 14:00, with a range of real ales available on tap inside the Whistle Stop Cafe at Havenstreet Station, while refreshments will also be served at the bar at Ashey Station.
Those looking for something to eat can enjoy a selection of locally sourced sausages at Havenstreet, with flavours including maple, beef, pork, vegan and vegetarian, Smokey BBQ, and Chipotle & Honey.
Tickets include unlimited train travel throughout the day, allowing passengers to make the most of the event and explore each station at their leisure. Those who do not wish to travel on the railway can still enjoy free entry to Havenstreet Station.
The special evening timetable will see trains continue into the night, with the final departure from Smallbrook at 21:58 and the last arrival back at Havenstreet at 22:41. Island Line services will operate until the 21:02 departure from Smallbrook towards Shanklin, helping visitors connect with the wider rail network.
Advance booking is recommended, with tickets available online now.
