Isle of Wight Tomatoes has unveiled its first-ever range of premium pasta sauces, with the new collection set to launch exclusively through Ocado and the company’s online shop this week.
The Island business has developed 7 flavour-led sauces using its own tomatoes, marking an expansion from supplying fresh produce to creating a range of store cupboard products.
The sauces have been designed to showcase British-grown tomatoes, with each recipe made using freshly cooked Isle of Wight Tomatoes alongside carefully selected ingredients. The company says the range contains no added sugar or preservatives and uses short, recognisable ingredient lists.
The new collection includes Sweet Cherry Tomato, Tomato Parmigiano Reggiano, Tomato & Fermented Chilli, Tomato, Capers & Olives, Butternut & Parmigiano Reggiano, Marry Me Sauce and Pizzaiola.
Ingredients featured across the range include Parmigiano Reggiano PDO, fermented chilli, olives, capers, basil, oregano and extra-virgin olive oil.
Daniella Voisey, Business Development Lead at Isle of Wight Tomatoes, has said:
“Everything we do starts with flavour. We’ve spent years growing tomatoes that chefs and consumers recognise for their exceptional taste, so creating a pasta sauce range was a natural next step.
“We weren’t interested in producing just another pasta sauce. We wanted to create something that truly celebrates the quality of British-grown tomatoes and shows that great flavour comes from great ingredients. Every recipe has been developed to let our tomatoes shine, using simple, recognisable ingredients and minimal processing to create sauces we’re incredibly proud of.
“This is an exciting new chapter for Isle of Wight Tomatoes and one that allows even more people to experience the flavour we’re known for in an entirely new way.”
The launch comes as shoppers increasingly seek products with transparent ingredient lists, fewer additives and a stronger connection to where their food comes from.
The pasta sauce range is available from via Ocado and the Isle of Wight Tomatoes online shop, before rolling out to selected farm shops later this summer.
Each 320g jar has a recommended retail price of £4.50.
