Cowes Ale House has been crowned the Isle of Wight’s Pub of the Year by the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA), with Goddards’ Fuggle Dee-Dum once again taking the title of Beer of the Year.
The awards were presented by Isle of Wight West MP Richard Quigley during a ceremony at Cowes Ale House on Saturday 11th July.
Cowes Ale House claimed the branch’s top pub award after moving into first place following the closure of the previous winner, which was located just a short distance away in Cowes.
Meanwhile, Goddards Brewery’s Fuggle Dee-Dum was named Beer of the Year, continuing an impressive record for the ale, which has been a regular winner since it was first brewed in the early 1990s.
The annual awards are organised by the Isle of Wight branch of the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) to recognise the Island’s best pubs and locally brewed beers.
Richard Quigley presented the awards to the winners, congratulating both businesses on their achievements.
Fuggle Dee-Dum remains one of the Isle of Wight’s most decorated beers, having consistently impressed CAMRA members over more than 3 decades.
