Happy Haddock has announced that both of its fish and chip shops in The Bay are to close until further notice.
The chippy business currently have 2 shops in the bay area with eateries located on both Sandown and Shanklin High Street.
Both the Sandown and the Shanklin stores will be temporarily closed, it has today (Saturday) been announced.
The closure comes at a somewhat weird time given the long bank holiday weekend and the fact that there’s little over 1 week left of the summer holidays.
On their Facebook page, a Happy Haddock spokesperson has said:
“More information will be provided in due course.
“Apologies to our customers for any inconvenience.”
No exact reason for the closure has been given but Island Echo understands that the business is undergoing some ‘structural’ changes. More information is expected next week.

Blimey. It will be drinks all round at Chubby’s then!
I am not that desperate for Fish and Chips.
There’s something in the water down in that Bay area. Have they run out of fish?
Best Fish and chips on the Island, hope all is well and they re-open asap.
You need to get out more if you think their the best.
They used to be. Gone completely downhill in recent times. Same can be said for stotesburies in Newport.
Best fish and chips ever, cooked in beef dripping
Best fish and chips
The cod and chips at the Shanklin one is always great. Hope they don’t close.
