Fundraising efforts are underway to raise enough money to install the final piece of play equipment at the Bumble Bee Garden in East Cowes – a memorial garden created in honour of 6-year-old Keziah Flux-Edmonds whose life was cut short back in June 2016.
The Bumble Bee Garden – located on the Hawthorn Meadows Estate – was officially opened on 1st October 2018 and featured a variety of play equipment, plants, trees and a bench for people to sit and reflect on.
On that day, local Magician Mr David Randini was asked to speak on behalf of Nikki ahead of the ribbon cutting by Keziah’s friend, Oscar. A tree was also planted in memory of the youngster- who was tragically killed by her father at the family home in June 2016.
Now, nearly 5 years after the garden was opened, Keziah’s mum Nikki wishes to install 1 last piece of play equipment, but she needs your help to do it.
So far in the few days that the page has been active a total of £1,140 has been raised.
Speaking on the JustGiving page, Nikki Flux-Edmonds has said:
“Since COVID-19 started I have wanted to put one last piece of equipment in the park, One I couldn’t afford the first time Keziah’s favourite piece of play equipment. We have now made it to £9,500 and just need £1,500 more and it can be up and played with.
“Please from the bottom of my heart can you help with this last bit. To allow living children to have fun, and a lost and loving mummy put something perfect up in her daughter’s memory.”
