Wight Eagles Girls Under-11s have claimed their 1st title by finishing joint top of Hampshire Division 4.
The U11s went the whole campaign only losing 1 game, finishing in 1st position alongside Gosport Borough Girls Academy.
Manager Sally Parkman said:
“It’s a wonderful achievement to see these girls fight every week and give their all to be successful I’m really proud of them.”
Head of Youth- Dan Verstraeten said:
“This is what the club and Academy is all about, giving the girls the freedom to play and progress through our ranks. This is why we built the stepping stones, so they develop into a winning team and next year they’ll be even better.
“The Hampshire League gives them all hope of making it as a pro footballer. They all have dreams and I want to help make them come true.”

In other news, Dan Verstraeten has been appointed Wight Eagles Club Chairman after Stephen Spriggs stepped down and left the club earlier in July.
Dan added:
“I’m excited to be taking up this new role after setting up the Academy back in 2020. It has been a success, and I want to carry on building it and welcome any new and old players to the club.
“I still remain U16s Manager, and we are looking for new players to add to the Squad as this coming season sees us battle against Vectis Girls in Division 1 for the 1st ever girls’ local derby on the Isle Of Wight.
“I’m excited about the new direction the senior team are going under new player/manager Ellena Boakes, and I’m looking to working closely with them as we develop the youth up through the ranks.
“It’s time for the club to have a reset and a fresh direction as we continue to progress and develop.
“I want to personally thank Steve for his running of the club, coaching and managing and wish him all the best.”
