VisitEngland has today (Tuesday) announced the winners of the second annual ROSE Awards, with a Shanklin guest house taking the honours for the Isle of Wight.
Designed to showcase accommodation providers that give the warmest of welcomes, the awards recognise establishments where the owners, management and employees provide incredible experiences for their customers, irrespective of their star rating, style or type of accommodation.
This year’s awards celebrate 100 accommodation providers from all parts of the country. The winners were identified through online reviews from overseas as well as domestic visitors and cover types of accommodation from Bed & Breakfasts (B&Bs) / guest houses, self-catering and hotels to parks/campsites, glamping sites and hostels.
Brooke House in Shanklin – a 2-storey late 19th century Victorian guest house – are the only accommodation providers on the Island to be awarded a ROSE award in 2016.
VisitEngland Head of Industry Development Pam Foden said:
“From glamping in the valleys to cosy B&Bs in the hills the sheer number of accommodation providers recognised for going the extra mile in this year’s awards demonstrates the outstanding quality of service and innovation of products on offer to visitors across the country. Providing a high level of customer service is crucial to repeat business and the spread of awards shows that the accommodation sector is thriving across the entire country”.
