UPDATED: The Met Office have issued a yellow weather warning for heavy and sometimes persistent rain on Saturday.
Up to 30mm of rain is expected to fall along the South Coast with up to 60mm possible on south-facing slopes. In addition, southerly gales are expected with gusts of up to 50mph inland and 60 mph on south-facing coasts.
The severe weather warning is in place from 06:00 until 23:55 on Saturday 6th February. The rain and gales are expected to clear from the west during the evening.
As this rain will be falling on near-saturated ground, localised flooding and travel disruption is possible.
UPDATE FRIDAY: The Met Office have scaled back their weather warning to only just encroach on the Isle of Wight. Bad weather is still likely to affect the area.
For Monday, a weather warning for strong winds has been issued. Forecasters are warning of gusts up to 70mph.
UPDATE SATURDAY: A fresh weather warning has been issued for strong winds across the South.
The Met Office say Southerly gales will develop throughout today as an active frontal system moves across from the west.
Gusts of around 60-65 mph are expected, which is likely to lead to travel disruption.
The warning is in place from 11:00 this morning until 23:45 tonight.
The wind warning in place for Monday remains.
