Vectis Radio Station Manager, Ian Mac, has said:
“The sheer quantity and quality of the applications for our first Community Awards has been overwhelming. The panel of judges had a hard time selecting the winners, and whilst not everyone from this list of finalists will be a winner, just being on the list from such a large number of entries should be regarded as an award in itself.
“I don’t know who’s won what yet, so I am excited to find out on the evening.”
Event Organiser, Maggie Currie, adds:
“Vectis Radio supports the community in many ways and we thought it was about time we shone a light on other organisations and individuals that also put in so much work and time to support the community of this island with such commitment and energy. My thanks go to our panel of independent judges who had a real job sorting through all the high-quality applications.”
“We wanted to hold a ceremony that did honour to all those who are finalists, but also wanted it to be affordable and comfortable. That’s why we’ve kept the price as low as we can and ask that you come dressed however you feel comfortable. Smart- casual or glam, it’s your call.”
Tickets for the event are available at just £10 each from the Vectis Radio website www.vectisradio.com.
