A grassroots youth team on the Isle of Wight that had been struggling to get its hands on a new kit has finally scored one.
Sandown and Lake Wasps FC (Under 11s) now wear a pristine yellow and black strip, thanks to Utilita.
The energy provider, which is renowned for partnering with professional clubs including Southampton and Portsmouth, is also a great supporter of the grassroots game.
It was through Utilita’s Energy Hub in Newport High Street that the Wasps secured their new kit.
Energy Expert at the Hub, Andrew Owers, explained:
“I’d heard the team were struggling to get hold of new kits for quite a while – this is a problem for lots of clubs at the moment given the Cost of Living Crisis.
“At the Energy Hub, we always look to support the many Isle of Wight communities in any way that we can, so I thought I’d step in and see what I could do.
“Luckily, our Partnerships team are so quick and eager to help, and now the Wasps have a brilliant new kit.
The new jerseys are certain to catch a few eyes at the Wasps’ upcoming tournament at Butlins, which will see them face teams from across the country.
Wasps manager Terry Wackrill said:
“The kit looks amazing! The kids love it and can’t wait to start the new season wearing it.
“It means a lot to have the support of a national business such as Utilita.
“I can’t thank you enough and I know all the kids will wear it with pride.”
