Junior Doctors from St Mary’s Hospital have today (Tuesday) visited children in Early Years at Cowes Primary School to hold a ‘Teddy Bear Hospital’ to teach them about health, dental hygiene, hospitals and what to do if they needed to phone 999.
A ‘Teddy Bear Clinic’ was also held this morning allowing the children the opportunity to take one of the school teddies and chat with the doctors about why their teddy was poorly and were given a ‘pawscription’ to take away with them.
The aim of such visits is to help children gain confidence in managing their own health and address any fears they have about visiting their doctor or hospital.
Junior Doctors across the country are taking part in strike action today and tomorrow.
Cowes Primary School are thanking the junior doctors for their time and for making the visit a huge success.
